The Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción in Chile has been using ZWCAD to teach and train their students in CAD software, since 2010. Since then, the information technology faculty has been using ZWCAD in their industrial engineering department. Carlos Aburto Rubio from UCSC stated, “Here we teach students to read and interpret drawings, and the students have interacted and responded well to the program.”
The Universidad Catòlica de la Santísima Concenpcíon (UCSC) was founded in 1991 in Concepciòn, Chile as a private university and is a member of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities. In 1994 the Institute of Technology was created within UCSC in order to teach and train engineers in accordance with the universities mission. Now the Institute of Technology has offices in all provinces of the region including Talcahuano, Chillán, Los Ángeles and Cañete.
UCSC had a tough decision to make when choosing CAD software. As a University, they wanted to teach their students on industry standard, quality software that would not break the bank.
