Established in 1994 in Saudi Arabia, Sadr has evolved into a leader in manufacturing, logistics services, and modern storage solutions. The company specializes in manufacturing shelves, storage systems, wooden pallets, and iron products. Additionally, Sadr offers comprehensive logistical services, including warehouse leasing, management, and operations for third parties. Over the years, Sadr has served a diverse range of clients within Saudi Arabia and beyond.

In Sadr’s design and engineering teams, various software tools are employed to handle their daily tasks. “For example, when designing racks, our design team use 2D CAD to create floor plans. Then, our engineering team use 3D CAD for modeling and simulation. After that, we revert to 2D CAD to create shop drawings and installation drawings for production and installation,” explains Ahmed Alhelw, Technical & Projects Manager at Sadr.
As Sadr’s business grew, the company faced several challenges: rising operation costs, time-consuming cost evaluation, and inefficient design workflows. To address these issues, Sadr sought a new CAD solution that could streamline their processes and reduce expenses. After a thorough evaluation, they discovered that ZWCAD met their expectations.

Addressing Cost Challenges with Perpetual Licensing
One of the major issues Sadr faced was the high cost of software licenses. Unlike AutoCAD's subscription-based model, ZWCAD offers perpetual licensing that allows Sadr to own the software forever at a fraction of the original cost. “This not only saves us a lot of money in the long run but also ensures we always have access to essential design tools,” remarks Ahmed Alhelw.
Additionally, ZWCAD’s lightweight nature reduces the need for high-performance computers, further saving on hardware costs. He adds, “ZWCAD runs smoothly on regular computers and laptops, which has been a significant advantage.”
Enhancing Design Efficiency with Superior Performance and Features
ZWCAD provides unparalleled compatibility with industry-standard DWG files, which enables Sadr to reuse legacy data and smoothly communicate with upstream and downstream partners. This ensures an uninterrupted workflow after switching to a new CAD platform.
Beyond that, ZWCAD has more to offer. Alhelw comments, “ZWCAD can handle large and complex 3D files without any delays. That’s one of the key reasons we decided to switch to ZWCAD within just a month.” Another standout feature is Flexiblock, also known as dynamic block in AutoCAD. “With Flexiblock, we can quickly modify rack units for different projects without creating new variations, greatly reducing our workload,” he adds.

Seamless Transition with Comprehensive Technical Support
Transitioning to new software can be challenging, but ZWSOFT’s comprehensive support made the process smoother. ZWSOFT, the company behind ZWCAD, has built a global network spanning over 90 countries. This global presence ensures prompt and convenient support for customers.
“The local technical support from ZWSOFT is excellent,” remarks Alhelw. “They assist us through various channels—emails, phone calls, and online meetings. Whenever we encounter a problem, they respond quickly and solve the problem effectively.”
ZWSOFT’s commitment to customer satisfaction is evident in their continuous product improvements. “The ZWSOFT team listens to our feedback, and we can see improvements that benefit us in newer versions,” says Alhelw. Additionally, ZWSOFT developed a custom plugin for Sadr to calculate the quantity of rack units, which has significantly reduced errors and accelerated their design process.
Future Prospects with ZWSOFT’s All-in-One Solution
As Sadr and ZWSOFT look to the future, they are actively exploring the potential of integrating ZWSOFT's solutions more deeply into the product lifecycle. Alhelw, reflecting on the current phase, notes, 'We are currently testing ZW3D for a range of tasks including modeling, structural simulation, engineering drawing, and BOM generation. The prospect of leveraging a single software for these diverse needs is not only cost-effective, but it also promises to safeguard data integrity and bolster collaboration among our teams."
The migration to ZWCAD has proven beneficial for Sadr, addressing pivotal challenges and propelling its operations toward greater efficiency. ZWCAD will continue to support Sadr's continued growth and prosperity.
