1. SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
Designed to minimize data input during project execution and guarantee consistency within the produced documentation.
All traditional engineering drawings, such as: Plant Layouts, Orthographic drawings, Isometric drawings, MTO and Material Requirements are automatically generated from the 3D models.
What you see is what you get. There is no way in making material take off errors. System architecture protects against users’ mistakes or system crashes. There's no phantom pointers getting lost at midair.
2. 3D MODEL
EPLANT-Piping uses Piping Specifications and component dimensional tables during the generation of the tridimensional model of the plant.
The compressed structure of the 3D files allows building quite large models (2000 piping lines in a 10-15 Mbyte drawing file).
3. 2D PLANS
2D Orthographic Drawings are automatically generated from the 3D Models with all the required references.
4. ISOMETRIC DRAWINGS
Piping isometric projections with distorted scale are automatically generated, in a few seconds, from the 3D model. They are completed with format, dimensions, notes and MTO listing. Every setting and format is easily modified on the fly.
Isometric are 3D files and, contrary to almost all other systems on the market, retain all the "intelligence" of the 3D models, making possible to interactively annotate them.
Isometric symbology can be modified. Multiple symbol libraries are supported.
5. PCF support
Geometric characteristics of Piping Lines can be exported to PCF files, compatible with Stress Analysis Programs.
6. PIPING CATALOG
More than 50 different standards are available in the piping component dimension catalog that is part of the system. It includes: fittings, flanges, valves, instruments.
User can add new catalogs and define new components using a parametric script language.
7. PIPING SPECIFICATIONS
Piping and insulation specifications are continuously checking what the user is doing and minimizing data input. When a piping class and a diameter are set, all other characteristics (diameter ranges, schedule, rating, material, end type, additional description code, insulation thickness) are automatically extracted from specifications.
Specifications can be defined in xls files and uploaded into the system.
8. MTO
The data base module works with an off line copies of the 3D models contents and updates itself to user request.
It is a complete material management system, because it allows to generate Material Requirements, tracking them along subsequent revisions.
