In today's fast-paced world, traditional drawing tools sometimes fall short of meeting the demands for efficient design. ZWCAD 2025 aims to address this by introducing a suite of advanced design tools tailored to many vertical industries. These upgrades are specially designed to help professionals complete tasks efficiently and accurately. Let's take a closer look at the enhancements of industry modules in ZWCAD 2025.

Enhanced Point Cloud

Point clouds are widely used across various industries including surveying, mapping, and building renovation to enhance design efficiency and accuracy. Point clouds consist of large sets of data points in space that represent the external surfaces of objects or environments with precision and detail.

In ZWCAD 2025, we’ve further enhanced the Point Cloud function to optimize workflows of point cloud viewing and editing. The Point Cloud function has added three visual styles with each of them supporting standard features such as color and visibility adjustments for more tailored results:

  • Intensity: It displays lighting and material information to help you recognize scanned object types. You can also remove noise points by adjusting the range visibility.
  • Elevation: It allows you to observe point clouds at different heights easily. By setting the range visibility, you can hide point clouds within a specified range to focus on crucial areas.
  • Classification: It displays point clouds by classification if they have been classified before import. By setting the range visibility, you can choose to show a specified object type such as vegetation, buildings, and roads.

The Navigate to Scan View function is another highlight in Point Cloud. Through this function, users can quickly locate the corresponding view to observe the interior of a point cloud model more conveniently. Furthermore, we improved the display quality and format conversion efficiency when handling complex point clouds, offering a smoother and more efficient experience.

Enhanced GIS

GIS (Geographic Information Systems) are commonly used across various industries including surveying and mapping, civil engineering, urban planning, and infrastructure planning to enhance decision-making and optimize designs for large-scale projects. It is a powerful tool that allows users to analyze, visualize, and manage spatial data.

In ZWCAD 2025, we’ve further enhanced the GIS module to improve its usability. It now supports the import of various mapping services including Bing Maps and ArcGIS. It also supports users to import mapping services compliant with WMS/WMTS protocols. This function provides the flexibility to choose the appropriate map according to the location of your project or your discipline.

Moreover, it can match the geographic marker with the insertion point specified in the drawing by specifying the latitude and longitude. This function enables seamless alignment of drawings with real-world geographical contexts to ensure accurate results.

It also allows you to snap a specific map area as an image. By removing unnecessary content, it can save refresh time and thus speed up your design process.

Image Vectorization

Digitalizing historical hand-drawn or scanned drawings is a common scenario in industries such as manufacturing, architecture, civil engineering, and surveying. Typically, users have two options for digitizing these legacy drawings: manually recreating the entire drawing or investing in additional software. Both methods are costly and time-consuming.

ZWSOFT integrates a powerful vectorization tool into ZWCAD at no additional cost to streamline this workflow and support digitization efforts. This feature automates the conversion of raster images into vector graphics, significantly reducing the manual effort involved. To ensure accurate results, it allows you to adjust parameters before conversion and modify the results such as breaking, merging and connecting lines.
