For designers and engineers using CAD software, dealing with table sheets is a part of their daily work. A nice sheet can keep things clear and organized. Most of them use Microsoft Excel to create and edit their sheets before transferring them to their CAD software. When users transfer data between software, it not just spends a lot of time to do so. What’s worse, there might be a risk of data loss.
But now, we made big improvements in our Table Tool so you can do it all in ZWCAD 2023 without switching between software.
Many features of our Table Tool are quite similar with what you can find in Microsoft Excel, so there is no need for further explanation. But there is still something you might be interested in. Let’s explore now!
Ribbon Contextual Menu
Compared to our previous version, we added a ribbon contextual menu to it so you can choose functions directly on the menu. When you click on a cell, the ribbon menu will switch to the table cell tab automatically.

Insert Multiple Contents
In the 2023 version, one of the big improvements is you can insert not only text, fields or formulas, but also blocks into a cell. Click the “Block” button on the ribbon contextual menu, a dialog box will pop up and you can select blocks you want to insert from the list.
It’s recommended to check "AutoFit" as when you click "AutoFit", the block will be scaled automatically based on the size of the cell to fit it.

What’s more, you can even insert multiple blocks, or put different types of contents into one cell, like blocks and text. You can put whatever you want into the cell with no limits.

After you insert different types of contents into one cell, you can adjust the sequence of the contents easily by clicking "Manage Cell Content".

Save as New Cell Style and Match Cell
After you set a cell style, you can right-click the cell, and on the shortcut menu you will find "Save As New Cell Style". With this new feature you can easily apply the wanted cell style to other cells.

There is a faster way to copy the cell style – Match Cell. It works like the format painter in Microsoft Excel. Simply select a cell, click the "Match Cell" button on the ribbon, and choose another cell, then the cell style is applied to it.

Starting Table
This function allows users to select a table template as the starting table. When you need to create many tables in the same form, you can save an existed table as a template first, and then choose it as the starting table. In this way, you can reuse the table form conveniently without setting it every time. It’s noted that when you save a table as a template, it only saves its title, header and the cell style of the table.

Apart from what’s been mentioned above, there are many other new features that can boost your working efficiency, like AutoFill and Formula. I guess you are already very interested in it, right? Download our ZWCAD 2023 to try it now! 30-day free trial is available!
