ZWSOFT recently announced the successful conclusion of the 2024 ZWSOFT CAD Competition. This international contest continues to serve as a dynamic platform for university and vocational school students to showcase their CAD skills, especially in mechanical design, while fostering communication and connection among participants worldwide.
A Global Platform for Inspiring Innovation
This year’s competition welcomed nearly 7,000 participants from over 700 universities and colleges worldwide, marking another successful edition of this prestigious event. The contest featured two main sections: 2D Mechanical Drawing using ZWCAD MFG and 3D Modeling using ZW3D Education, giving students the opportunity to demonstrate their expertise in either or both areas. To support participants, ZWSOFT's technical team provided comprehensive online training before the competition, ensuring everyone was well-equipped to succeed.
After a rigorous evaluation by a panel of experts, 41 outstanding participants were selected as winners in the international division. The first prize in the 2D section was awarded to ChangYun Kang, and the first prize in the 3D section went to Muhammad Abdurrahman.
ChangYun Kang, from the Tech University of Korea, earned the top spot with his precise and professional mechanical drawing. He demonstrated exceptional skill by leveraging the specialized toolsets in ZWCAD MFG to complete the part drawing accurately. His use of layers to organize drawing elements, along with logical settings for color, line type, and line width, reflected technical proficiency and attention to details.

Muhammad Abdurrahman, from Politeknik Manufaktur Bandung, delivered an exceptional throttle valve model and assembly. Based on the provided drawings, he not only completed the modeling and assembly but also effectively used PMI annotations and created precise engineering drawings that detailed the assembly's components. Additionally, he enhanced the model’s appearance with vivid colors. Notably, this marks the second consecutive year that a Politeknik Manufaktur Bandung student has achieved top honors in the competition.
